Now Hiring - Hydraulics Mechanic
We are looking for a skilled Hydraulics Mechanic to join our team here at Alaska Hydraulics. Alaska Hydraulics is a locally owned and operated Hydraulic sales and repair shop located in Anchorage. We have been supporting Alaskan industries since 1976, including mining, oil and gas, fishing, and construction. Our facility maintains the highest level of commitment for delivering to our customers excellent workmanship and quality service.
As a Hydraulic Mechanic, you will be responsible for knowledge of hydraulic components including but not limited to motors, pumps, valve banks, and cylinders. You must be able to work with shop machinery and power tools as well as follow all safety precautions. At Alaska Hydraulics, we are a close-knit group that works great together, so teamwork is imperative.
Responsibilities
TDI (tear down and inspection) hydraulic equipment
Inspect hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues and repair required
Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
Undertake other shop duties as assigned
Keep logs of work and report on issues
Skills
Proven experience as Mechanic
Hydraulic system understanding
Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic systems
Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
Manual dexterity and great attention to detail.
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
A strong commitment to health and safety
Very good communication skills
Very good physical strength and stamina
High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is equally acceptable
Welding qualifications not required, but extremely helpful
